Ebook About Portland, Oregon, aka Hotlandia, where the coffee shops, restaurants, and bakeries are ready to serve everything piping hot, fresh, and ready to go—like the hard-working, hard-bodied men behind the counters—with no reservations…Sure, Chris O’Neal has problems. His restaurant is still co-owned by his ex. His flannel-and-tattoos style is making him accidentally trendy. He can’t remember the last time he went out and had fun. But he’s not lonely, he’s driven. And the hot bakery delivery boy is not his problem, no matter how sweet his buns. Chris is old enough to know Lance Degrassi’s sculpted good looks and clever double entendres spell nothing but trouble. Lance is still in college—he should be hitting the clubs and the books, chasing guys his own age, not pursuing some gruff motorcycle-riding workaholic. Especially when he’ll be leaving for grad school in a few months. But Lance keeps hanging around, lending a hand, charming Chris to distraction. Maybe some steaming hot no-strings indulgence won’t hurt. Then again, maybe it will…Book Delivered Fast (Portland Heat Book 3) Review :
Interests: Contemporary Romance, Age Differences, M/M RomanceQuick SummaryCoffee shop owner Chris O'Neal is too old and jaded to be attracted to the young, energetic delivery boy, but he just can't stay away. Lance Degrassi is the life of the party and he has big plans for his life, starting with graduate school at his top choice in Cali. A friends-with-benefits agreement seems like the best option for Chris but as he spends more time with Lance he begins to enjoy life again. But as the graduate school deadline nears, will it all be over or just the beginning? What I LikedI enjoyed this one, though not as much as Albert's #gaymers series. I took a step out of my normal routine and read a series out of order (a big deal for me!) because I liked this plot line more than the previous two. That being said, I had no problem understanding the characters as this was pretty much a stand alone and I did buy the 1st and 2nd after finishing this one. I loved how fun and energetic Lance was but at the same time he was very mature and had a good life plan for himself. Usually characters are just one or the other so it was nice to have this characterization. His maturity helped bridge the gap in ages between Lance and Chris. Chris was more gruff but by no means was he grumpy and being around Lance brought out a more playful side. They were very sweet together and it was nice to see them learn to depend on each other. What Needs WorkThough I enjoyed Chris's point of view, I would have loved to also have Lance's since I like to read both sides of a romance. But even with only one POV, we still get a lot of Lance through his actions. There were some instances where I wanted Chris to just get over his insecurities but for the most part I was fine with it. Another win ^^Having the hots for a guy 13 years younger is not easy. For a number of reasons. And so it also isn't for Chris when he first meets 22yo sexy, hot, smart, sweet and just plain adorable Lance. He's not ready for what hit him just then, a truckload of yummy lust for starters. Can't be though. Lance deserves better than an (inked, sexy, grumpy) old man, doesn't he?He has his coffee shop. And two speeds, bitter and grumpy. And that's fine with him. He tells the story, his POV throughout the book. But young Lance has his mind set on what he wants from life and so when he (beautiful, sweet, sexy Lance) pursues Chris relentlessly, his desire for the younger man trumps everything else. And when lust and the HOTTEST sex ever for both of them turns into affection, warm, quiet nights and love, he cannot wrap his mind around the idea of young Lance giving up on his dream, his life... on anything really, just for him.Life is not easy. Is also not full of second chances.I'll let you know right now this ends well. Their lives are not fully in place but the HEA is right there for you to warm yourself over. And then, life starts ^^Enjoy!
